
On this day in 2010, Darius triumphed in the final of ITV's Popstar To Operastar.
He secured 50.1% of the public vote to become the series winner, with Bernie Nolan as the runner-up, receiving 49.9% of the votes.
The show was broadcast live on ITV1 and attracted 4,330,000 viewers.
During the final, Darius performed three songs: he began with "Non piú andrai" ("No More Gallivanting") from Mozart's Marriage of Figaro, then duetted on "The Impossible Dream" from Man of La Mancha with Rolando Villazón, and finally performed "Libiamo ne'lieti calici" ("Brindisi") from La traviata alongside fellow contestant Bernie Nolan and the show's mentors, Katherine Jenkins and Rolando Villazón.
He concluded the show as the winner with a reprise of "Non piú andrai".
