It's 18 years today since Darius released "Kinda Love".
"Kinda Love" was the first single to be released from Darius' second album, "Live Twice". It was released on 18th October 2004 and peaked at number 8 in the UK charts and number 2 in the Scottish chart.
Darius said that "Kinda Love" is about the insecurity you feel when you are in love with someone, and how just a little moment with them makes your day.
His youngest brother, Cyrus, chose it as the first song to be released from the album. At the time Darius told Newsround:
"My brother Cyrus is nine-years-old and is learning to play the drums.
I actually asked him which song I should release first.
He said Kinda Love cos it's catchy and the record company agreed.
He was also the one that told me to get rid of the ponytail and the goatee.
He should be my manager!"
Darius appeared on Top Of The Pops on Friday 29th October 2004 to perform the song when it charted at No.8. Watch that performance below:
