šŸ¦‹ On this day in 2010 it was announced that Darius was joining the cast of ā€˜Carmenā€™ for a special performance at the O2 where he took on the principal role of toreador Escamillo.

The production, which was directed by Opera Factory founder David Freeman and was created by impresario Raymond Gubbay, was performed on a ā€œgrand and spectacular scaleā€ by a cast of over 200 performers, including dancers, acrobats and fire-eaters.

Speaking at the time of the casting announcement Darius said

ā€˜ā€™I thoroughly enjoyed my time on Popstar to Operastar and learning the discipline of opera was tough but hugely rewarding, this opportunity, however, takes it to the next level and I cannot wait to get started.ā€
