Photo Update - Radio 1 Big Sunday

We've updated the 'Live' Photos section with some new images from Radio 1's Big Sunday in Falkirk from 2002.

The event took place on the day that saw Darius celebrate his second week at No.1 in the UK singles charts with his debut single, 'Colourblind'.

Darius, who was 21 at the time, wore a kilt as he belted out his hit song in front of 70,000 rain soaked fans in Falkirk, Stirlingshire.

The Daily Mirror reported at the time:

Darius was in a sunny mood after beating his heroes Coldplay to the number one slot and even poured a bottle of water over himself to cool down.

The Scots star said: "I need someone to pinch me. Beating Coldplay is just unimaginable."

Darius was given a mighty cheer as he leapt onto the stage and stripped off his black shirt to reveal a white vest.

Some revellers even had to be given earplugs to block out the deafening roar.

Others turned up with home-made banners supporting Darius.

The One Big Sunday show was presented by DJ Jamie Theakston, who also wore a kilt.

But Popstars reject Darius was the undisputed star of the show.

Gillian Wylie, 18, from Lanarkshire, said: "I am a really big fan of Darius.

"I am so glad he has made it - I knew he would. He did so well and he looked like he had been at it for years.

"When he came on stage the noise was deafening. He really stole the show."
