During the week of the album's release Darius made an appearance at Virgin Megastores in Glasgow to sign copies of the album for his fans.

The Daily Mirror reported at the time:

Pop Idol star Darius Danesh today fought off more than 100 adoring fans when he popped into a record store yesterday.

The 21-year-old was mobbed during a visit to Virgin Megastore in Glasgow to promote Pop Idol - the Big Band Album.

Darius looked stunned when he emerged in front adoring fans who were mostly made up of young schoolgirls.

To deafening screams, the singer spent almost an hour chatting to them and signing various objects - including a pair of knickers.

The Scots singer, from Bearsden, near Glasgow, took time out from the current UK-wide Pop Idol concert tour to spend time with his family.

He said: "It's good to be home and I'm so impressed with this turnout, it's fantastic.

"It's been great to see my mum and dad while I've been up, as well as meet people here in Scotland."
