In December 2004 Darius attended and performed at the MTV Immies, an award ceremony to recognise the best talents in the Indian music industry.
Darius was very popular in India and had a large fanbase there. He was nominated for an award in the Best Male Pop Act International category.
Talking to an Indian music website, The Record, at the time of his visit to Mumbai, he said:
"It’s always a wonderful feeling to be recognised for your work. I’ve received some wonderful awards in the UK. Some of them are serious music awards, and then Smash Hits voted me the Best Dressed Male In Pop which is cool.
I have to admit these awards mean a lot to me because they are a melding of different cultures, a melding of the East and the West and that to me is really cool."
