Back in 2008 Darius starred at the New London Theatre in Sir Trevor Nunn’s West End production of Gone with the Wind, where he became the first actor to play the role of Rhett Butler on stage in the musical.
The Independent said of his performance "The diabolically dashing Darius Danesh brings a seductively insolent charm, a dark velvet voice and a genuine, fugitive pathos to the cynical blockade runner."
Prior to the opening of the show TCM made an hour long documentary looking behind the scenes of how it came in to production.

First shown in 2008 prior to the opening of Gone With The Wind on the West End, Gone with the Wind - The Making of the Musical follows one of the most exciting theatrical projects of recent years in a production led by acclaimed British director Sir Trevor Nunn. This honest and realistic documentary will see the cast and crew go through the hard work, joy and excitement that is involved in such a large and ambitious production. The making of the show also includes interviews with Sir Trevor Nunn, Darius Danesh and Jill Paice. Other members of the cast and crew also talk to camera about their experience and involvement whilst viewers will also get a look into the rehearsals. TCM delves even further behind the scenes, filming the office buzz, the marketing campaign meetings and the photo shoots.
